Abandoned

Since infogami has been abandoned by its creators, I’m out too. Back to web.fisher.cx for me. Everything that was here is there.

Stealing from D&D3e for classic D&D

There are some things in D&D3e that I find appropriate for borrowing into classic D&D.

Ascending AC

I think 3e's ascending AC is a good change. Given that all the classic D&D material I have already has the descending AC, however, & that I don't find it that difficult, I just stick with descending.

Iterative attacks

In both editions, "to hit" chances generally improve faster & farther than AC. The result is that, eventually, most attack rolls hit. The iterative attacks are a nice way to counteract this.

Flanking

The 3e flanking rule is a good development of the older flanking rules. It fits completely with the spirit of classic D&D.

Healing level hp/day

While I can accept arguments both for & against it, I think having characters "heal" a number of hp equal to their level per day of rest could fit just fine in classic D&D.

Spontaneous casting

Letting clerics swap prepared/memorized spells for cure spells is fine by me.
