The Bible may be the word of God, but it’s the word of God as told by humans.
Even if it didn’t have the taint of humanity, it’s still written in human language. Language often fails to clearly communicate my own thoughts, why should I expect it to be any clearer at communicating the thoughts of a transcendent deity?
When reading the scripture, I use my God-given reason & ask for some help from the Holy Spirit to interpret it.
If there existed clear proof that the Bible was a work of fiction, that wouldn’t change the truths I have found there.
If—when you read Genesis—you see a treatise on cosmology, you have missed the point.
