Parley Sometimes it's better to delay a fight by talking. It may give you time to prepare for the fight. It may give you the chance to learn something that you can take advantage of. It may make a fight unnecessary.

Of course, sometimes delay is an advantage for your foe. In talking, there's also the chance that you will accidentally give up information that your opponent can use against you.

Fight on your terms You always want to dictate as much about the terms of the fight as you can. The time. The place. The terrain. When you're rested & the foe is not.
